Now that we run los angeles and orange county based Jupiter’s Motorcycle Rentals, I figured it was time I finally get out to Ortega Highway and ride. Having already pre-run it, I felt comfortable and ready to ride…fast! ha ha.
It was supposed to just be Adam and I, but we got a small crew going for a nice Saturday ride.
The ride was fun and manageable. Nothing a guy who runs a motorcycle rental joint can’t handle. The only bummer was actually getting to Ortega. The freeway ride is not too long, not too short, but it being a freeway: kinda boring.
Once at the foot of it, though, we gassed up, and got going.
The first few miles are nice and mellow, going through a woodsy little area. Fun turns and twisty’s, and then it starts to get nice and meaty. You get nice swooping rights and lefts, that last a good few seconds…well, depending on your speed. A few of us wanted to ride faster, but since we had a crew of about 6 or 8 of us, we kept it slow and mellow.
We made it to Hell’s Kitchen, and stopped to gas up ourselves. I didn’t see any people that had rented motorcycles. But maybe I just didn’t know it, or wasn’t looking hard enough. But I was curious if motorcycle rentals are a nominal and normal thing for a typical Saturday jaunt out in Ortega. Maybe I should have asked around, but, we were busy having fun, and it was time to eat.
Took a few pics of the bikes, and our surroundings at Hell’s Kitchen. Not much diversity here. Mostly Harley dudes. But its all good.
Our twin Bonnies here. Love my Triumph.
Bellies full, we peeled out, and headed to the top of the San Bernardino hills. Twisty roads, get even twistier up here. Also more gravelly. Well, that is, if you take the un-beaten path we took. If you do, you get these kind of vistas. And man, is it worth it.
Certainly was a good day for a ride! If you haven’t yet, you gotta get out here. Come rent from me, I’ll hook you up with a beautiful day like today. Man, good thing Jupiter’s Motorcycle Rentals is now here in Los Angeles and Orange County area.
